5. South Dalmatia
The most prevalent varieties: Oblica, Lastovka, Drobnica

The area includes the coastal part from town Ploče to cape Prevlaka and the island of Lastovo, Mljet, Korcula, Lopud, Sipan, Peljesac peninsula. According to research, olives were cultivated on the islands for several thousand years BC.

Region has approximately one million trees, mostly on island Korcula, about half a million. Oblica is  main variety, follow the Lastovka, Drobnica, Bjelica, Sitnica and other.
